Thankfully I no longer have job fatigue as a freelancer. I try to be eternally grateful for my own personal situation. Yet I don't do enough for the benefit of others. My friends and 6 billion people on the other hand... It's tough to watch. It's sad to imagine how much better they'd be without the golden handcuffs. Golden is a stretch. Too many of them are in literal handcuffs. We have people out here working the hardest in some of these jobs, harder than people have worked in most of human history outside of abject slavery. Over 50 million of them are literal slaves (increasing 10 million in the last decade alone). We have more slavery going on now than during the peak of the Atlantic slave trade. If you expanded the definition it's probably closer to a billion people.

So much of it is needless and wasted effort. ESPECIALLY in America. It's gross and negligent. In some crazy horrific way the slaves today are actually producing more viable product than up to 25% of these American jobs. Paper pushing or trading numbers on some scam exchange yields way more profit than picking cotton on the farm, but what did trading that stock actually accomplish? At least the slave is actually producing something. Of course slavery is horrendous and beyond abhorrent, but so are these other jobs; just in a different, parasitical way. Some of these jobs we consider as high prestige. I hope you change your mind and see them for what they are.

In a lot of ways these parasite jobs are trading human labor the same way slavers traded people. It's just so abstracted that they were able to convince people to put their own money into the system that's trapping them. We need to take a long look and decide if these jobs are worth keeping around. If the job can only exist by pilfering the productive output produced by real jobs, it needs to be cut. In the most grotesque example what does the king actually do for the domain? In countless examples he's just draining the resources from the kingdom while oppressing the populace.

Just look at the growth of doctors compared to admin and peripheral jobs. Admins are growing at almost quadruple the rate of doctors. We need more doctors, yet the growth of the job is artificially limited in the US, by medical schools and such. Instead we get ridiculous growth in jobs that instead of producing actual tangible beneficial results, they scrap endlessly over the fruits of other people's labor. Dividing it up into smaller scraps for the rest of us. See American insurance companies if you want a concrete example.

Imagine if these jobs went away and people actually just did what they wanted to. My friends would be better people, having more time to pursue what is actually important, without shirking financial responsibility.

Don't get me wrong plenty of jobs are actually a net good. I'm just arguing that too many jobs are the opposite, and just exist to make everyone's life worse. I don't even need to give any more examples these jobs are beyond obvious. Even jobs that should be a net good when done in the wrong way end up in the latter category.
