Thank God I found God (or whatever you want to call it, there are levels to this shit fr) after I was an atheist for awhile, then agnostic. I was like that for the first 20 years of my life. Since I never believed nor saw the evidence around me. I was too depressed and tunnel visioned on my shitty being. One good part though At least now I know for sure that I'm a good person without fear of any higher power. Those religious people who are only good because some external voice tells them to or because they're afraid of hell are completely missing the point. They're living for the wrong reasons.

I pity the ones who do not know if they would still retain their morality if a truly benevolent God did not exist. If we really are just born once and die once and then that's the end of our existence. Would they still be as kind to people as they are now? Are they only doing it because they expect a reward at the end in heaven?

If they are living that way, it's an atrocious, despicable life. It's hard to do good things while not expecting anything in return from other people. If it was easy we wouldn't be writing about it. If you don't do that, if you do expect compensation for good works, your good works tend to become poison over time. This is something that has been know for thousands of years and it is true now than ever before. Now obviously it doesn't mean you can't charge for work or need to help everyone or you can't do multiple things at once. Like doing good things for the sake of doing a good thing, but also to build yourself up economically for example. There are obvious material constraints that need to be worked into it all.

The truth is, if you do truly expect nothing in return for all the good you do, then you become someone that is given everything. It's truly a magical life. It takes an extremely high level soul to take upon themselves the suffering of other people. For most people it's literally impossible. You have to let people suffer out on their own, the only thing you can and should do is show them the pathway to walk if they want to stop suffering. You can't walk down it for them without being a truly divine being. Someone like Jesus Christ. So don't pain yourself or feel hurt by the suffering of other people. If you find yourself doing that you're wasting your time performing for no one, instead of doing good works to alleviate their problems.

I'm sure there's more to our wonderful lives than that. It make more sense to me that we'd last a lot longer than one life time, at least after you get past materialism. We are literally projected into our bodies. Into time and space. We're here right now, but also in other places.

It's like we're just a fragment of our total being experiencing a life. Again, since time works differently in higher dimensions, we really could be in two places at once. Quantum or whatever. It is pretty technical. Most people will never understand, and those who do will barely know, it's like an amoeba trying to understand how the sun works in space. That doesn't mean we should just give up. The key insights and acumen we can accumulate during this work uncovering truth is still important. Like the law of cause and effect. Gravity, relativity. Imagine if we never knew any of this. We'd be left far behind.
